About

Built by a professor, for the people who teach

AIDRE was created by Scott Woods, a tenured statistics professor at a public college who has taught college mathematics and statistics for twelve years.

Why AIDRE exists

In more than a decade in the classroom, I have seen how many students are left behind by course materials designed first for students without disabilities. I decided to be an ally to those students rather than another barrier in their way.

As the accessibility deadlines approached, I heard about courses being cut back to a syllabus and a link to an online textbook, because there was no time to make everything else accessible. That hurts every student, not only those with disabilities. I also understand the instructors making that choice. They are not experts in disability law, they are rarely given real training in how to fix their documents or why it matters, and they are already stretched across teaching, research and committee work. They care about their students. This is simply a job better done by software built for it.

AIDRE is that software. My aim is to level the playing field, one document at a time.

Why it is strong on STEM

AIDRE is for anyone who shares documents online, but science and mathematics courses post the documents that are hardest to make accessible: equations, derivations, diagrams, scientific notation and data tables. That is where most tools give up, and it is where AIDRE was built to keep going.

Who it is for

AIDRE is designed for colleges and universities, installed on the institution's own servers and used by its faculty and staff. Licensing is scaled to the size of the organization, and other organizations that share documents with the public are invited to contact us for licensing that meets their needs.

The company

AIDRE is developed and licensed by AIDRE Technologies, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.
